Starting Out (Outdated)
Survival MMO's features can be overwhelming to new players. Ultimately, a server with a lot of features can provide an enjoyable experience but to new players, it may turn them off due to how complicated these content may seem to be until they learned that these are pretty simple to understand.
There are a lot of ways on how to start your adventure in Survival MMO. However, in this guide, we will discuss the recommended way of starting out if you ever feel lost throughout your journey.
Early Game
Land Claiming & Homes
The most important aspect of starting out is protecting your base from other players. You can do this by creating a town or join an existing one.
To join an existing one, you will have to ask other players but please, do not expect that everyone are willing to take you. You may have to start solo until you have proven to them that you are a trustworthy player to join them.
To create your own town, refer to Land Creation for the list of commands.
Once you have joined or created your own town, you can type
/land spawn
to teleport to your town location.Town teleport may seem to be limited. However, if you want to teleport to specific locations, you will have to set up your homes. To create a home, type
/sethome <homeName>
. You can use/home <homeName>
to teleport to your specific homes or check saved homes by typing/homes
. Players can save up to (10) homes but may delete some homes using/delhome <homeName>
.
<homeName>
can be anything. You should name your homes depending on the home location to easily remember your homes.
Chest Protections
Other than protecting your base, you will need to use chest protections to protect your chests which are located outside of your town premises.
To protect your chests, type
/cprivate
and left-click/tap on the chest that you want to protect. These protections prevent even your town members to access specific chests. If you have trusted allies, you may use
/trust add <playerName>
to add them to your trusted list. Trusted lists allow these players to access your protected chests. To remove them, type/trust remove <playerName>
.
Grinding Economy
After learning to protect your base and items, proceed to grind for economy. Survival MMO uses a virtual currency, "$", which is used buy items from other players, buy from Admin Shop, craft new items, etc. Basically, in order to survive in the server, you need "$".
The most simple way to earn money is to do vanilla actions. Every time you mine a block, harvest a crop, or kill a mob, there is a chance that a custom item called "Resources" may drop. These resources can be sold by typing
/sellall
or/sellgui
.Some other ways are catching a fish. When fishing, there is a 60% chance to receive custom fishes. There are (6) types of fish tiers; bronze, silver, gold, diamond, platinum & mythical which can be sold through
/fish shop
. For more information, read more from Enhanced Fishing. You can also mine ores which may drop fluxes or gemstones that can be sold through
/mine shop
. For more information, you can read more from Enhanced Mining. You can also trade with other players. You may proceed to build farms to produce items such as Gunpowders, Blaze Rods, Ender Pearls, etc. which can be used to sell to players that needs it. Refer to Player Market in order to setup your own shop.
On Overhaul Update, a new currency called Vanilla Points was introduced. You can gain Vanilla Points by selling Vanilla Items such as diamonds, dirt, sand, etc. By using Vanilla Points to buy from VP Shop, this is another way to grind money but not this is not usually recommended for new players.
